Summary of thesis

My dissertation explores the grounds by which Argentina is becoming a key area for foreigners to access reproductive care, entangled in a complex framework of individual and political motivations. Analyzing how reproductive governance shapes access to fertility treatment and childbirth exposes a complex paradox of reproductive care for Argentines - while foreign demand grows and is accessible, citizens struggle to approach the same services. The research will critically analyze how cross-border reproductive care shapes national practices of reproduction and citizenship, while providing insights into the landscape of reproductive mobilities and the impact of reproductive geopolitics on a local scale.
